BECOMING A VOLUNTEER

Why Become a Volunteer?

The Maroondah Community Assist offers a unique volunteering experience for people looking at either serving clients or providing assistance at either of the organisation’s two offices.

All interviewers who serve clients are accredited volunteers and have completed the Community Information Workers Course. Course members are assigned a mentor to assist them with their work and to make contact with other volunteers.

Ongoing training is conducted monthly to further skills, connect with other agencies and to provide feedback on the organisation.

The Maroondah Community Assist also welcomes volunteers who would prefer to assist in administration or other activities.

Volunteering for the Maroondah Community Assist provides a positive and enriching experience through providing much needed help for those in the community who need support, have a query or are in difficult circumstances.

Volunteering is an opportunity to give back to the community in a positive way.
