A Little Bit About Us...

The origins of the Maroondah Community Assist began through merging the Ringwood and Croydon offices in 1996.

In 1967 the Ringwood Advisory Service was formed and was one of just ten Advisory Bureaus in existence within Victoria at that time. In 1974 the Croydon Community Service combined with Ringwood to form the Ringwood/Croydon Advisory Service.

Following council amalgamations the two offices became the Maroondah Citizens’ Advice Bureau Inc. in 1996.

Today, the Maroondah Community Assist offers information, referral and emergency relief services from its Croydon and Ringwood offices.


Our History

  • Where It All Began

    The Ringwood Advisory Service opened in Bedford Road, Ringwood

  • We Became A Member

    The Ringwood Advisory Service became a foundation member of the Victorian Association of Citizen Advice Bureaus

  • Croydon & Ringwood Joined

    The Croydon Community Service Group combined with Ringwood to become the Ringwood/Croydon Advisory Service.
    The Croydon office opened in the old Croydon Library building where it still is today.

  • Ringwood Office Relocated

    The Ringwood office moved to the Ringwood Square shopping centre

  • Ringwood Office Moved Again

    The Ringwood office moved to the Ringwood Library complex.

  • Amalgamation

    The Ringwood/Croydon Advisory service became the Maroondah Citizens Advice Bureau Inc. with the amalgamation of the two councils.

  • Ringwood Office Moved Again

    The Ringwood office moved to 2A Ringwood Street, Ringwood.

  • Changed of Name

    We changed our name from Maroondah Citizens Advice Bureau Inc to Maroondah Community Assist Inc
